Juan designed this chair with the aim of making a beautiful and elegant piece for casual, comfortable seating.
It is made entirely in solid oak, with the seat and backrest weaved with Danish Cord. These two materials contrast and complement each other in a delicate balance of similar tones and different textures. The organic hand-finished curves, inspired by the erosion of caused by wind and water, differentiate this chair’s flowing lines from those made by machines.
Currently in stock.

One of our favourite projects, this full fit-out included some very challenging pieces with an exquisite, delicate design by Studio Wolter Navarro.
Our involvement started very early on, providing consultation about how to use wood to achieve what the designers had in mind, and designing the constructional aspects of these pieces, which feature continuous grain running from floor to ceiling, everything but interiors, being made in solid Douglas Fir.

Smooth ash wood surfaces with a delicate white finish contrast the rough firewood in the living room and the stone floors in the kitchen. The staircase is clad with thick ash boards to last for generations. All made in solid wood.
The cherry wood vanity unit in the master bathroom is veneered, to avoid movement caused by moisture absorption.

We used a soft, white finish for this calm space inundated with daylight from the two enormous, industrial windows.
The staircase and balustrade are made in solid ash, with veneered panelling.
The library is made in solid pine and spruce ply.

We produced all the free-standing furniture as well as the window stools for Atis Food in Old Street, using a mixture of veneers, solid cherry wood and galvanised steel.
The design was made by Daytrip Studio

Rudimentary Structures
This collection of furniture, made in collaboration with EB-BA architects, is based on rudimentary structures borrowed from architecture.
The repetition of the same basic components across different pieces aims to create slender frame-like assemblies, analogous to those used in large scale construction.
The strong visual impact of these structures is reinforced by a mix of textures and materials such as scorched wood and white washed timber, complemented by finer details in raw steel and woven Danish cord.
EB-BA’s director Benni Allan and Junca’s fascination with the sculptural potential of furniture stems from their interests in making and the built environment, a direct influence of their experiences of growing up in Spain and Argentina respectively.

The inspiration for this coffee table comes from mid century classics as well as organic forms caused by erosion. The glass top allows to see through to the flowing curves of the frame and the hair-on cowhide that covers the shelf.
Hundreds of hours are required to fine shape the curves that run in different planes, a process that can’t be made entirely with a machine and relies heavily on good hand-tool skills.
This piece is available to order.

This is a fun way to organise and display all sorts of trinkets. It can be hanged or leant against a wall. Use it in the kitchen as shown in the pictures, in the hallway to hold keys, coins and photos, or in the bedroom for jewellery, small perfume bottles, decorative items, etc.
The design is based in the old letterpress trays but made to a high quality using hardwood with copper inlays. It can have other materials for the inlays as well as different choices of wood.
The copper can be either lacquered or left raw to allow for that natural beautiful verdigris patina to form over time.
This piece is currently in stock.

We designed these baubles originally to give to our clients as Christmas presents. A few of them gave us some very nice feedback saying they’d keep them out all year and asked we made them some more.
Now available on a made to order basis.

We were very lucky to get to work with Daytrip Studio on our first fit-out.
The spaces they designed for Blok gym’s new venue in Shoreditch mixed contrasting textures like glass, wood, steel and concrete in a beautiful balance.
The benches in the cafe area are all made entirely in solid Douglas Fir.
The cafe counter has a floating end, for which we designed a steel frame that was later clad in steel.

A simple design with a robust construction. It is based in components that share the same cross section.
The double seat rails help improve the structural strength while keeping that cross section consistency between all the components. For the most critical joint between the seat rails and the back legs, I used tenons that pass through the legs, wedged and visible from the back, a feature that was characteristic of the Arts and Crafts furniture.
It looks light yet it has a nice weight to it.
Entirely made by Juan. Currently in stock. Available in sets and in other choices of wood.

The idea for this design, thought as a piece for a vestibule or well-lit hallway, was to keep it as elegant and simple as possible, putting the spotlight in the beautiful Danish cord weave.
The cord’s light, natural colour is enhanced by the dark tones of the walnut wood and its light weight by the thin, slightly tapering legs and the absence of stretchers.
Danish cord is made out of three twisted paper plies and in spite of its delicate appearance it is incredibly strong, lasting for decades.
These, including the weave, are entirely made by Juan. Currently in stock.

I used traditional construction methods, with a dovetailed drawer, butt hinges and some Arts-and-Crafts-inspired visible joinery. Made to be passed down generations.
